"This is the first song that Kat and I wrote over a decade ago in high school long, long, before Awful Din was a band. It’s been written and rewritten with so many different people and we weren’t sure we would ever put it out. We weren’t even sure we wanted to put it out now. We’re so far removed from who we were when we wrote it. It feels more like a tribute to who we were 10 years ago than an expression of where we are now. But it’s been sort of an invisible constant in our musical history, and it started to feel wrong that we hadn’t shared it.

Broadly the song is about recognizing fleeting moments of joy and learning to appreciate them while you’re living them, before they’re over. Specifically it’s about this time me and Kat dropped acid at my old elementary school.

We wrote this song to capture a moment in time and a decade on it still feels like a diary entry."
